Proteins are the building blocks for muscle development and maintenance. They are not only of importance for the regeneration of muscles but give the body its defining features: skin, muscles, nails, bones, ligaments and many other organic structures. Even enzymes and most hormones are protein-based. Multiple amino acids join together to form long chains which are then folded into proteins. Amino acids are either non-essential, conditionally essential or essential. The latter cannot be synthesised by our body and have to be obtained from the diet.
Increased protein consumption, well above the dietary reference value, has shown its effectiveness in weight-lifting, bodybuilding and fitness. Individual protein requirements can be determined more precisely with our protein calculator. For further assistance, consult the overview, «8 SPONSER® Protein Powders in Comparison».
SPONSER® offers many different high-quality protein products in various forms (powder, bars, liquid etc.) Click on the tabs below to learn more.

Whey Protein

Whey protein is one of the most popular sources of protein as it contains all nine essential amino acids. These amino acids cannot be synthesised within the body and have to be obtained from the diet. Whey protein thus presents an optimal source of protein for muscle development. It is available as a concentrate, isolate or hydrolysate.

Protein Blends

Protein blends combine several proteins from different sources in order to compensate the various advantages and disadvantages of individual proteins. For this reason, slow proteins are often combined with fast proteins.

Casein (Night Time Protein)

Casein is often referred to as a «night time protein». In contrast to whey protein, it is digested more slowly. This ensures a continuous supply of amino acids to the body over a longer time.
For this reason, casein is often used before going to bed but it can also be taken during the day.

Plant-based proteins are readily used - not only by vegetarians and vegans - as an alternative to proteins of animal origin and dairy products. Yet, plant-based proteins cannot compete with proteins of animal origin in terms of protein quantity and amino acids spectrum. To meet this challenge, several plant-based proteins have to be combined so that all essential amino acids are obtained and intake has to be increased to compensate for the protein deficit. Nonetheless, when it is a question of meeting one’s daily dietary requirements for protein, vegetable proteins are a valid alternative to animal proteins.

Egg Albumin

Egg albumin or ovalbumin is the main protein found in egg whites. Today, ovalbumin-based protein powder has disappeared from the spotlight. Nonetheless, it is a good choice for those who seek products to supplement whey or casein, such as bodybuilders. Ovalbumin can be used to enrich products or for cooking/baking.

Ready-to-use protein drinks are very convenient. SPONSER® offers many varieties: whey-based products such as PROTEIN SMOOTHIE, whey-/milk protein-based products such as PROTEIN DRINK or refreshing whey protein shots which are lactose-free (MUSCLE WHEY PEPTO und SPORTS WATER PROTEIN).

Bars provide practical alternatives to protein drinks. SPONSER® offers protein bars and snacks in many varieties, either low fat or with/without carbohydrates.
